“Glamorous W cathedral, uneven staff”
W Budapest is a glamorous cathedral-like conversion on the luxury shopping street (LV opposite) — sunlight-filled loft rooms with Marshall speakers and rare touches like makeup remover, a fantastic free-access spa with indoor pool, steam and sauna, flexible early check-in for morning arrivals, and a rich breakfast with fruits, novel egg dishes and a warm congee. Service is uneven though: breakfast waiters were arrogant to one guest, a housekeeper's attitude was very bad, and the mattress ran too soft; a wedding party thumped one night.
