“Volkshaus Basel's design perch”
Boutique & Design Hotel Volkshaus Basel is a design-forward old-house conversion — pretty smaller rooms with personality, free drinks, fruit, and coffee on each floor plus a self-serve minibar, a downstairs supermarket, a tram at the door, walkable art-museum access, and a good breakfast. Caveats though: a dissent calls it average — a twenty-minute station walk across the river, over-filtered photos, fresh-paint hallway smell, and forced desk smiles (one earnest night agent praised); hourly church bells wake light sleepers.
