“Riu Chicago's polish”
Riu Plaza Chicago is a great best-of-the-trip stay — a well-located hotel by the Magnificent Mile amid plenty of restaurants and shops, a new modern fresh elegant room called the most tasteful four-star a guest had met, a good well-ordered breakfast despite the crowds, standard business-hotel rooms and service, and a friendly checkout. Caveats though: the food leans heavy on oils and sweets for some palates, the air conditioner made an unusual sound every half hour, a smileless check-in stung one guest, brighter furniture, a gym and a pool are wished for, and a dimmable lamp would help mixed sleep schedules.
