Hotel Floridiana is a cozy lovely stay — a hidden gem at the center of Amalfi's Old City that makes a fantastic exploring base, a five-minute walk from the harbour and minutes from buses, ferries and restaurants (perfect for an expecting mother), clean spacious incredibly-clean rooms, an elevator, a specially-decorated restaurant with a sumptuous breakfast, and extremely friendly really welcoming staff; one guest would not book elsewhere on return. Caveats though: the narrow pedestrian-heavy streets make driving in challenging, it can be hard to book more than one night, and the wifi was only passable.
