“Lake-view Como grande dame, split takes”
Palace Hotel Lake Como overlooks the lake steps from the funicular and station — beautiful property, courteous staff who 'couldn't do enough,' a really good varied breakfast, and lake-facing rooms worth requesting. But detractors call it a rundown average three-star: terrible cleaning that tossed belongings, touristy rather than romantic, and value that disappoints despite the excellent location.
