Steps from the sand, Surfer Beach Hotel earns great marks for many: a very clean remodeled room, always-amazing front-office staff, a good attached restaurant and repeat bookings. Dissents though stack up: a severe case of chlorine smell needing an airing walk, a tiny bathroom with a saggy floor, a loud portable air conditioner, fifteen TV channels, a parking charge, missing hairdryer tissues and towels, beds smaller than claimed, a dead key, an old tired building and a laundry-side room whose balcony view was a staircase and rooftop equipment.
