Hotel Madero Buenos Aires is a magnificent stay for many — a great wealthy-district riverside location near Plaza de Mayo with a lovely balcony, tight security, a quick front desk with a free upgrade, luggage storage and taxi calls, newer facilities for some, superb breakfasts, and good-night chocolate compliments; returning guests would pick nothing else. Caveats though are serious: a severe dissent calls the place run down — floor gaps, scuff marks, detached wallpaper, broken tub inlets and rotten corners — plus annoying little money-making schemes, and another guest found service terrible with even bottled water charged.
