The Spectator Hotel is a spectacular downtown Charleston boutique — beautifully-appointed rooms with high-end bathroom fittings, minibar snacks, free treats, an amazing complimentary in-room breakfast, romantic bar cocktails, turndown wine and champagne touches (a mudslide was the cherry on top), and top-tier unbelievable staff — butlers Michelle and David plus Toby praised. One guest judged the amenities short of five-star: little usable space beyond the small lobby bar, the gym is small and located around the corner, and there's no rooftop terrace, making it feel overpriced; another noticed wear — pristine to very nice — since a prior stay, though still wonderful.
