“Upper west beacon”
Five minutes from the 72nd Street station — Central Park and the Met walkable, a big supermarket opposite, Columbia near — Hotel Beacon is a nice highly-recommended stay: excellent service, great room equipment, a super nice front desk that upgraded one guest, a small kitchenette for simple meals, an excellent view and the best value near the park per one. Cautions: dated facilities especially the bathroom, typical for New York, and a cockroach once, promptly removed by staff.
