“Kyoto toji loisir”

About a kilometre from the station — an Aeon mall opposite with tax-free shopping, a temple a few hundred metres off — Loisir Hotel Kyoto Toji is a very nice great-value stay: enough space for two big suitcases, amazing superb professional staff, impressive rooms and common areas, a rich tasty breakfast and a nice afternoon water bar, friendly on non-holiday stays. Cautions: poor sound insulation, trains audible all night on the track side, affecting sleep, and carpet deep-cleaning needed.

Rooms: Spacious amid carpet and noise notes.
Service: Superb professional staff praised here on most stays.
Location: Amid the kilometre walk noted on most stays.
Food: A rich breakfast and water bar.
Facilities: Mall adjacent amid rail noise on most stays.
Value: A great value verdict noted on most stays.
