“Zurich's hotel rex”
Right by the tram from the station, Hotel Rex earns nice convenient marks for some: a clean quiet safe smallish room with a fan, excellent friendly helpful reception and an old-town spot. Dissents though carry severe weight: self-check-in guests report no help when stuck — repeated city-tax retries, unhelpful checkout and a lobby-night risk — a bathroom entering with flies and moths, no cooling despite the listing, a strange shower-first layout, a very poor breakfast and an overpriced feel.
