Eight minutes' drive from the town center with a managed shuttle and station pickups by phone, Hotel Kinparo is an older Kinosaki stay redeemed by the table and the bath. Crab kaiseki dinners arrive in a surprising number of courses, the outdoor onsen overlooks the Sea of Japan, and big all-sea-view rooms catch the sunrise. Note the last shuttle leaves at three-thirty and summer shops close at four; breakfast is distinctive and service warm.
