Near Ueno Park and Yanaka Ginza, The Edo Sakura is a charming traditional stay — bilingual staff, an amazing optional breakfast, and laundry service cheaper than some US coin-ops. Rooms run small in the ryokan style, and tatami sleeping will not suit every back — one guest would hesitate for that reason alone. Everything else, from arrival to departure, earns praise.
