Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort is a huge, quiet resort on a roughly 600-metre private beach — clean uncrowded sand with pine shade, squirrels, tide-pool crabs and small lionfish, mangroves, lawns, lotus ponds, monitor lizards and monkeys, two good-sized pools with perfect sunset views, big clean comfortable rooms, a good restaurant, and warm smiling staff; repeat guests call it their Krabi first pick. Notes: it is far from Ao Nang's piers and nightlife — skip if you want action — breakfast variety is a bit small, the Thai and hotpot buffets were only average, and one guest's repeated noise complaints about a neighboring family's 1am children went unanswered until they confronted the parents themselves.
