Monte Rosa Boutique Hotel is an excellent Zermatt stay — a European-vintage property near the station with a free cute shuttle taxi both ways (a help with heavy bags), very good suites with comfortable beds (the double is two joined singles) plus tub-and-shower baths, check-in water, a handwritten letter and fragrant amenities, free fridge juice amid the paid drinks, a magnificent varied breakfast buffet, patient staff who explained things carefully despite a language gap, and a friendly young Spanish driver to chat with. Note: no kettle in-room.
