“Hotel Europe's lakeside spot”
Hotel Europe is a clean nicely-decorated old-European Zurich hotel in an excellent location — near the train and bus stations, five minutes on foot to the lakeside swan-gathering spot, supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants around, a very good bed, snow-mountain views from the window, a big bathroom, and satisfying staff. Caveats though: the lift is a tiny manual-door phone-booth affair, one bathroom was too small, room 38 had a slight smell, and tea and coffee require asking for a kettle.
