Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora pairs a handsome lobby and professional staff, Cantonese-speaking among them, with rooms carrying fast-filling onsen tubs, a smart speaker and bathroom audio so the TV follows you into the bath. The restaurant's beef is called astonishing and two dinners got booked willingly. One hard dissent: a small guesthouse-feeling room with a factory view, a loud river at night, and poor value at that rate. Shops, restaurants and the Narukawa museum sit nearby.
