A couple of minutes from Waikiki Beach in a convenient quiet spot, Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa is a pretty fantastic-view stay: a clean comfortable room, an amazing ocean view from a comfy balcony, a noon check-in without status, an exceptionally warm cleaner sharing coffee, self-serve beach towels and a six-am breakfast. Dissents though: a loud first room beside the elevator — swapped — a dusty desk, a bent hairdryer plug, a blood-marked floor towel, black spots on linens, erratic dropping wifi, slightly worn fittings and okay-but-limited food.
