Best forquiet hostel stays · self-catering · budget Kyoto
Near the metro with supermarkets around and a thirty-minute walk to sights, R Star Hostel Kyoto is very clean, silent and almost luxurious for a hostel. Perks include free post-checkout luggage storage, a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering vegetable top-ups, and a simple breakfast of toast, jam and coffee. Honest quirks: six a.m. light and packing noise, no hangout beyond the kitchen, a body-odor room at one guest's first check in, and a supposedly all-hours laundry that closes at noon under hovering staff.
